DAY 01 :: ARRIVAL IN NEPALGUNJ  ( 150 meters
)
Arrival in Nepalgunj, welcome meet by our representative. In the evening briefing on the Holy Kailash Yatra tour.
Overnight at the hotel in Nepalgunj.   ( Meals Included ::  Dinner. )

DAY  02 :: FLY TO SIMIKOT (3,000 meters )
Take the flight (50 minutes) to Simikot in the fixed wing aircraft.  Overnight at the guest house in Simikot .          
( Meals Included :: Breakfast , Lunch & Dinner )


DAY  03 :: FLY TO HILSA (3,700 meters ) & DRIVE TO PURANG (3900 meters)

Take the flight (30 minutes) to Hilsa in the Helicopter and drive ( 1 hour ) to Purang.  Overnight  at the guest
house in Purang.  ( Meals Included :: Breakfast , Lunch & Dinner )

DAY  04 :: DRIVE TO CHIU GOMPA IN MANSAROVER LAKE (4580 meters )

Driving journey ( 3 hours) to Manasarovar Lake. The balance of the day is for the acclimatization & the rest.
Overnight  at the guest house in Chiu Gompa in Manasarovar lake.

DAY  05 :: DRIVE TO DARCHEN (4,600 meters ) - START TREKKING TO DIRAPUK (5,160 meters )
Driving journey (2 hours ) to “Tarboche Pole” ( Yamadwar) , via Darchen town & continue till “Sershong”. Start your trekking journey ( kora / parikrama, 15 km / 5 to 6 hours ) till you arrive at Dirapuk. Overnight at the mud house in Dirapuk.

DAY  06 :: TREK TO “DROMA - LA PASS” (5,636 meters ) & TO ZUTHULPUK (4,790 meters )
Start trekking ( 22 km / 7 hours) to Zuthulpuk. After climbing through the “Droma-La Pass” and passing by the two sacred ponds “ Ganesh Kund ” & “ Gauri Kund” finally climb down the trail via “Shapje Datok” to arrive at Zuthulpuk. Overnight at the mud house in Zuthulpuk.

DAY  07 :: TREK TO CHONGDO & DRIVE TO MANASAROVAR LAKE (4,580 meters )

Start trekking ( 5 km / 3 hours) to Chongdo where the trekking journey ends up today. Then start the driving journey to Manasarovar Lake. Overnight stay at the guest house in Manasarovar Lake.  ( Meals Included :: Breakfast , Lunch & Dinner )


DAY  08 :: DRIVE TO PURANG (3,900 meters ) AND TO HILSA (3,700 meters )

Driving journey ( 4 hours ) to “Purang” & enter in Nepal border at Hilsa. Overnight at the guest house in Hilsa.

DAY  09 :: FLY TO SIMIKOT (3,000 meters ) & TO NEPALGUNJ (150 meters ) - & - DEPART TO YOUR CITY FROM NEPALGUNJ

NEPAL  TOURIST  VISA
-- The “Tribhuvan International Airport “ ( TIA ) is the only international airport of Nepal from where the Immigration Office grants  
    the Tourist Visa on Arrival for the tourists flying to Nepal .
--  Though you can expect some queues during peak Tourist season, the “On Arrival ' visa procedure is very quick and simple.
--  If you wish to skip those queues, you can also consider getting Visa from Nepalese Diplomatic Missions stationed abroad prior to your arrival.
--  If you have obtained visa from Nepalese Diplomatic Missions in abroad , then you must enter Nepal within six months from the visa issued date. Your total stay is counted starting from the day you enter into Nepal.
--  Visas obtained on Arrival at the Entry and Exit points are 'Tourist Visas'.  They bear multiple Re entry facility. Tourist Visa 'On Arrival' is the only entry visa to Nepal.

Tourist visa extension is done for minimum 15 days with USD 45 and USD 3 per day for additional days. In the case of
     delay less than 150 days additional USD 5 per day as late fine.
--  Contact Department of Immigration for extending your visa or changing the category of your visa.
--  Tourist Visa extension can be done from Immigration Office, Pokhara too.
--  Non tourist visa extension can be done only at Department of Immigration (if eligible) for a period of maximum one year
    (except business visa).

TRIP PREDEPARTURE INFORMATION ( IMPORTANT )

 

[ 1 ]  ALTITUDE SICKNESS

-- As you are traveling over high terrain, you are likely to experience symptoms and discomfort of altitude
   sickness ( head ache, loss of appetite, nausea, exhaustion, sleeplessness, breathlessness etc.) until  your body
    adjusts to the elevation.
-- This can take a couple of days or more depending on an individual.
-- For this reason alone, we have made it mandatory to stay 2 nights at Lake Manasarovar (4,550 meters)
    moving on to the higher altitudes.
-- Drink plenty of water, be calm, and do not exercise. Do not drink alcohol or smoke prior to and during the tour.
-- We also recommend you carry a strip of Diamox tablets. We provide Gamow bag (a special equipment to
    prevent sickness from high altitude) on this tour.


[ 2 ] EMERGENCY RESCUE IN KAILSH
Only land transportations ( four wheel drive Jeeps / Vans ) are there for the emergency rescue in holy Mt Kailash region, as no any helicopter is allowed in the holy Kailash region and the Tibetan territory, even in case of an emergency rescue situations.

[ 3 ]  CLOTHING 
-- Since you are travelling to Tibetan region, be sure to bring warm clothing, as nights and early    mornings can be quite chilly to cold. ( 20
   degree celsius to minimum of . -16 degrees Celsius).
-- Bring the following items with you: Thermal wear, Sweater, Shirt / T-shirt , Woolen gloves, woolen    balaclava ( monkey cap) , Sun hat & scarf, Dust mask, Sun glasses , Woolen socks, Light Jacket,    Muffler, Raincoat are your personal items , that must be added in your list to carry.
-- Winter wears like thermo coat for the inner use and “Gore-Tex” materials clothing for outer use, are     highly recommendable.
-- Down jacket, Wind-breakers, Raincoat or Water proof Jackets, Warm trousers (cotton will also do), --    Indian women pilgrims are advised strictly not to wear Sari during this tour / yatra. In stead all women    travellers are advised to wear a comfortable “Kurta Salwar.
-- Comfortable walking / trekking shoes & light leather boots( in case of snowfall) are highly advisable to    carry with yourself.


[ 4 ] WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU ( Some Essential Items )

- Comfortable sport shoes good for walking 3 days Kailash Parikrama.

- A pair of light Sleepers. Sandal for use evening/morning.
- Gloves, Woollen socks (minimum 4 pairs), hand gloves Wool / Thermo cot undergarments.
- Wind proof jacket Shirt and pants which is easier to be while doing Kora / Parikrama.
- Dark Sunglasses, Sun lotion / Cold cream, Cosmetics , Wet tissues papers ( facial ).
- Torch light, additional batteries, Face masks /Dust masks, Rain coat , Umbrella.
- Walking stick, Sandal for use evening & morning time use.
- Your favourite dry foods including Nuts, Biscuits, Sweets, Zinger, Garlic candies, Toffees, Glucose,
   Namkeen, Lozenges, Kapoor / Vicks / Inhaler etc.
- Camera / Binoculars / Extra batteries with enough memory cards.
- Diamox tablets ( 15 tablets ,for high altitude), Aspirin , Pain killer medicines, Lip balm, Vaseline,
  Mustard oil, Handy Plasters etc.
- Salt, Vicks for sore throats, chewing gums, Mints.
- A route map ( to know where you are going and have been each day).

[ 5 ] PRE - DEPARTURE HEALTH STATUS
-- This is not a trek or climbing expedition but a tour; therefore no specific level of fitness is required. Anybody can join this Yatra if they think themselves fit and have strong willpower. People suffering from cardiac or respiratory problems should consult their doctor. Morning and evening walks, jogging, stretching, meditation and regular exercise make the journey comfortable for all.

1.]  Kindly examine yourself from your doctor for this Yatra / tour to know about your health condition and    your ability to cope up with the rigors of high altitude travel for days in 'no road' conditions, extreme   cold, dust, trekking to the maximum altitude of 19,500 ft. (5,450 meters) during the Parikrama etc.


2 ] Start excursing your body by walking, jogging, doing yoga and other breathing exercise to accomplish    the Yatra successfully as you need to travel in high altitude area, Mount Kailash & Manasarovar Lake.


[ 6 ]  FITNESS PRE- CAUTION DURING THE TOUR
--  At higher altitude area in holy Mt Kailash region , the amount of oxygen is less. Being one of the toughest
    high altitude road journeys on earth, you must be physically fit. No doubt about that & no compromise at all.
--  Generally patients with asthma & heart problems have a problem acclimatizing to high altitudes.
--  Certain illness such as Headache, nausea, lassitude, lethargy, breathlessness, general uneasiness [malaise],
    high irritability, light loss of balance, disorientation, incoherence and insomnia etc may be induced in the
    inclement weather and high altitude area which generally is not encountered over the plains.
--  This kind of problem can be seen in anyone irrespective of their age, sex and physical fitness.

-- Tranquilizers, sleeping dose and strong anti-biotic must be avoided during this tour and gradual acclimatization
   is the best solution for these problems while some symptoms may also be indicating the readjusting of our
    body to new environments.
-- Here are some best rules you should consciously follow to avoid such risks.
-- Rest, Breathe easy, climb down, do not be excited.
-- Talk less, observe silence with smiling every time if possible.
-- Walk unhurriedly & adopt one third of your speed and space.
-- Take 5 minutes rest after each 30 minutes walk, keep your load light.
-- Stop immediately whenever you feel uncomfortable and relax for a while.
-- Do not engage yourself in outbursts of fellow pilgrims, avoid arguments.
-- Too high and too fast are both harmful.
-- Never proceed with an empty stomach and consume plenty of liquids.
-- Enjoy your favourite music, Bhajans ( chanting) etc in the earphone and you can chant a prayer or  
    visualize everything around to suit your pleasant thoughts.
-- It is better to be over clothed than under protected to avoid catching a cold.
-- Bathing or drinking water from the lakes, streams or rivers en-route should be avoided as your system is
    not habituated for this.
 -- Avoid dust and direct sunshine during the long stretches of driving. Face, feet and hands must be well
   protected.
-- The uneven ground, steep slope and slushy banks are full of potholes. Be careful while walking and
   sightseeing together.
-- Always be in group and follow your guide or the one with experience.
-- Over exertion is to be avoided. Heavy warm clothing is most during winter.
-- Boots / Ked should be kept inside tent.

[ 7 ] TOUR TRANSPORTATION
The tour transportation depends on the travellers’ group size during the holy Kailash Yatra. In Nepal part, deluxe tourist buses / Hi-Ace Vans , are provided for all sort of transfers. And in the Tibetan region, a deluxe air condition tourist coach / bus is provided for the Indian passport holders. And a fully air condition Hi-ace Van ( 8-14 seats) are provided for the NRIs / foreigner.


[ 8 ]  ACCOMODATION ( NEPAL - KAILASH TIBET)
Accommodation during Kathmandu stay is on twin share basis , in the best selected hotels amid 3 star, 4 star and 5 star hotels. But , the accommodation in holy Mt Kailash region , in Tibet is very basic. You must adjust in simple guest houses and mud houses during the tour’s night stays. Group sharing rooms are available at every place. Four people in minimum should stay in one room with separate beds and warm blankets.

[ 9 ] MEAL PLAN FOR KAILASH TOUR
The full board vegetarian meal during your Kathmandu stay is provided at the same hotel of your stay. While traveling in the Tibetan part, our kitchen crew members will serve you fresh meals daily during the breakfast, lunch and dinner. During tour, in most of the occasions ( on driving journeys & during Kora / Parikrama ) the packed lunch will be served to all travellers. Besides, you can also bring some of your favourite dry foods.

[ 10 ] OUR STAFFS FOR KAILASH TOUR
Lotus Himalaya Tours & Treks Pvt Ltd is a regular organizer of holy Mt Kailash and Manasarovar Yatra since 2007. We have more than 15 regular and trained staffs engaged for a smooth operation and the essential regular service to be provided to our clients. Highly professional and experienced tour leaders, the chef and the kitchen team members and other first aid treatment trained staffs will always be present in each group of the travellers going for the holy Mt Kailash Tour.

[ 11 ]  CURRENCY
-- The unit of Chinese currency is Yuan. Currently “ USD 1 = 6.48 Yuan” . And “1 Yuan = INR 10.28”  approx.
   (as of May 2021).
-- Money can be exchanged at Bank of China at the Nepal –Tibet border point.
-- Exchange all your remaining Yuan at the end of the trip , when you re-enter in Nepal from Tibet.


[ 12 ]  EXTRA EXPENSES
Extra personal expenses may include Horse / Pony hiring & riding during the Kora / Parikrama, expenses for a personal helper (porter) for 3 days Kailash , expenses for the additional tour such as - Outer / Inner Kora, , Shopping, Telephone calls , Emergency rescue, Tibet group visa splitting from groups etc.

[ 13 ]  AGE FACTOR
-- Please note that the permit for the journey to Holy Mt Kailash will not be issued for the person who is above
    70 years of age.

[ 14 ]  OTHER INFORMATION FOR KAILASH
--  You cannot bring any books, magazine, pictures about Tibet, Buddhism or about any Lama’s. Custom of
    China won’t allow entering with those kinds of books.
--  Do not bring any fresh vegetables, fresh fruits, liquids like Ghee, Oils because these stuffs are not  allow   
    entering from Chinese custom at Kerung Border ( overland journey route ), & Hilsa Border ( helicopter
    route Simikot ).
-- Taking pictures, video in Chinese customs, Army and police station is extremely prohibited.
-- Follow the instruction of your guide while facing the inquiries and checking in every customs and check post.
   (Your guide will brief on these essential rules to be followed on the day of entry into Tibetan zone.)
-- Be polite and co-operative with every Nepali and Tibetan staffs.

   and pleasant. However, all the tours in Tibet are conduct strictly under the rules & regulation of Tibet Tourism
   Bureau (TTB).
-- Therefore, Lotus Himalaya Tours & Treks Pvt Ltd and its counterpart shall not be responsible for any change
    and alteration in the program due to unavoidable circumstances such as landslide, road blockage, flood,
    snow, political unrest, and cancellation of flight, delay arrival, sickness or accidents. Any extra cost  incurred

IMPORTANT NOTE ON TOUR COST
* Above rates are valid for the interested travellers for the year of 2017 only. ( May to September )
* The normal Visa fee to Tibet is included BUT IF & WHEN the visa has to be issued on an urgent basis ( on the last hour booking of the trip), then additional visa cost would be applicable.


TIME FRAME FOR THE TRIP BOOKING
* Minimum 45 days advance booking is required to arrange Tibet Travel Permit , Holy Kailash permit and the Visa approval and its issuance.

MODE OF PAYMENTS   [ via Bank Wire Transfer / Or Telex Transfer / Or Online Via our Website ]
* You should deposit the advance amount to us equivalent to of USD 500 by NRI s / & foreign passport   holders. And INR 30,000 by the Indian passport holders, along with a copy of your passport forwarded   to us in Email.
( This fund will be used to obtain the TIBET Permit and VISA. ).

* The remaining balance amount then should reach to us OR must be deposited in the concerning bank
   a/c of  “Lotus Himalaya Tours & Treks Pvt Ltd “ , at least 14 days prior to the of tour’s departure date  
    to Holy Kailash Tour.


DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR THE TRIP BOOKING
* Passport valid for at least 6 months.
* Medical report certified by doctors.
* The “Scan Passport Xerox Copy “ should be reached at Lotus Himalaya Tours’ office in Kathmandu at
   least 32 days prior to the date of travellers’ arrival in Kathmandu.
* The “Original Passport” should arrive at least 15 days prior ( to the date of travellers’ arrival in Kathmandu),
  at our “Contact Person / Point in New Delhi”. // Or in Kathmandu.

TIBET  VISA  INFORMATION
-- Chinese visa application: You are kindly requested to fill up the Tibet / China visa application form when you   
   arrive in Kathmandu. Tibet being a part of China , it necessarily demands the original passport of the  travellers
   in concern.
-- The travellers should submit 2 passport size photographs and the original passport in our office in Kathmandu.
-- Please be informed in prior that the Visa to China, of an Indian nationals / travellers who are above 70 years old
   of their age , can be rejected by the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu.
-- For those travellers who are below 70 years of their age, generally the Tibet visa is approved within one
    working day by the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu.

TRAVEL  INSURANCE
* We advise you to purchase comprehensive travel insurance package that will support your medical    attention, against the natural calamity, helicopter emergency evacuation, personal accidents and tour    cancelation etc.

* Our package tour cost does not include any individual or group insurances of the travellers so we   strongly urge all the travellers to purchase the insurance policy on their own.

CHANGES BY YOU
*If you wish to change your tour, you must inform our staff at least 30 days before the tour.
*Any extra charge or loss incurred due to such change made by you will be borne by you.

 

TOUR CANCELLATION POLICY
*All information / notice on the trip cancellation by a traveller must be sent in the written format to our office.
*The verbal information on the trip cancellations by a traveller is not enough & will not be entertained.


CANCELLATION  CHARGES
*25% of the tour cost will be applicable for the cancellations made by a traveller, on 30 days prior to tour date.
* 50% of the tour cost will be applicable for the cancellations made by a traveller , on 15 days prior to tour date.
*100% of the tour cost will be applicable for the cancellations made by a traveller, on less than 15 days prior to tour date.
* for any sort of NO SHOW by a traveller on the day of commencing the tour, the 100% of the tour cost   will be seized as the cancellation charges.


CANCELLATION BY THE COMPANY
* During a very rare situations and occasions , we may be obliged to cancel your trip due to reasons like   ;- border closed, permit not issued or valid permit cancelled by the concerning government, war, riots,   civil disturbances, strikes, natural disasters, terrorist activities or threat of such and closure of airport   etc.

* Under such circumstance, we will advise you as soon as possible if we can offer you an alternative trip   of comparable standard or make a refund of the money paid to us after deducting the expenses that   was spent to make the bookings of the flights, visas, permits, hotels and vehicle booking.

* In such condition, a clear bill of the expenses will be provided to you so that you will be able to claim   the insurance. However, we can be under no other liability to you in such cases. Sometimes Chinese   government personnel will refuse to give you entry even if you have permit if they think you are not   eligible based on their criteria. Please do not start your journey from your home town , until you will   get the confirmation of your “ Tibet travel permit and Tibet visa” , from our end.

REFUND
* No refund will be made to any travellers or a member in the traveling team if they quit tour / yatra    without completing it for what so ever reasons comes in during the trip.
* Once the TIBET PERMIT & VISA for the traveller is processed onwards then no refund will be made    against the initial trip booking amount of 25% ( of the original cost.)

INTRODUCTION ::  Holy Mt  Kailash & Manasarovar Lake


The Hindus believe that the holy “Mount Kailash Parbat” is the sacred abode of “lord Shive and goddess Parbati”. For a Hindu, to make the arduous pilgrimage to holy mount Kailash and have the Darshan (divine respectful view) of Shiva's abode is to attain release from the clutches of ignorance & delusion. Many thousands of Hindu pilgrims do visit at the “ Holy Mount Kailash and sacred Manasarovar Lake”, to attain release from the clutches of ignorance and delusion and to wipe out all the sins of a lifetime.

The mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar are the holiest of the several Tirtha-sthans ( sacred venue with
divinity ) in the Himalayas and lies in the south - western part of Tibet [ The Autonomous Region of China ].
