DAY 01
:: MEET YOUR GUIDE AT HOTEL
LOBBY & PROCEED FOR A DAY EXCURSION
At around 09:00 AM , your tour guide
will meet & greet you at your hotel’s reception. After a brief introduction
on a day return city tour program, a private vehicle will transfer you towards
the 1st monumental site from your
hotel .
-- Take a visit to Swoyambhu Buddhist Stupa – the oldest ever existed dome shaped
white colored Buddhist shrine situated to the western suburban area of
Kathmandu.
-- After that proceed a drive toward Kathmandu Durbar Square , situated in the
core part of old town surrounded by number of local markets , private
settlements & the government establishments.
-- [ If
you desire for a rest for 01 hour so that you could take a mid day lunch then
your guide will assist you to get a good touristic restaurant within the
monumental zone. This is an optional suggestion only. You may skip this too
& just keep on continuing the excursion with your guide.

-- Finally , move on to the 3rd site – Patan Durbar Square , located to
the southern part of valley.
After the excursion, you guide will drop off you to your hotel.

NEPAL TOURIST VISA
-- The “Tribhuvan International Airport “ ( TIA ) is the only international
airport of Nepal from where the Immigration Office grants
the Tourist Visa on Arrival for the tourists
flying to Nepal .
-- Though you can expect some queues
during peak Tourist season, the “On Arrival ' visa procedure is very quick and
simple.
-- If you wish to skip those queues, you
can also consider getting Visa from Nepalese Diplomatic Missions stationed
abroad prior to your arrival.
-- If you have obtained visa from
Nepalese Diplomatic Missions in abroad , then you must enter Nepal within six
months from the visa issued date. Your total stay is counted starting from the
day you enter into Nepal.
-- Visas obtained on Arrival at the
Entry and Exit points are 'Tourist Visas'.
They bear multiple Re entry facility. Tourist Visa 'On Arrival' is the
only entry visa to Nepal.

Visa Extension Fee ::
-- Tourist
visa extension is done for minimum 15 days with USD 45 and USD 3 per day for
additional days. In the case
of delay less than 150 days additional USD 5 per
day as late fine.
-- Contact Department of Immigration for
extending your visa or changing the category of your visa.
-- Tourist Visa extension can be done
from Immigration Office, Pokhara too.
-- Non tourist visa extension can be
done only at Department of Immigration (if eligible) for a period of maximum
one
year (except business visa).
IMPORTANT NOTE ::-
-- If you are visiting Nepal for the
purposes other than Tourism (sightseeing, tour, travel, mountaineering,
trekking,
visiting friends and families), you
should still get ' Tourist Visa' to get into the country. However, you must
change
the category of visa as per your purpose and length of stay in

SWOYAMBHU
STUPA :
-- This is one of the world’s most glorious
Buddhist Stupa in the form of the
white dome with a spire pinnacle above it.
-- Its origin dates back to 2700 years from the present time. This Buddhist shrine
is situated to the western part of Kathmandu, on the top of a small hillock with an elevation of 77 m above the valley.
-- The eastern balcony
offers a splendid view of almost the entire Kathamndu valley. Among the
visitors this place is colloquially popular with the name of “Monkey Temple”.
-- The entire periphery displays an exotic collection of small Buddhist monuments
called – “Chaityas” and a subsidiary Hindu shrine in the pagoda architecture
dedicated to goddess - “Harati”. This heritage site is also the center of
pilgrimage for the Buddhist devotees worldwide.
KATHMANDU DURBAR SQUARE ( Hanuman-Dhoka Durbar Square ): :
-- The word
“Kathmandu” stands for the
meaning “The City of Wood”. Colloquially
, it is also known as the “City of
Temples”.
-- The major river flowing through the Kathmandu Valley are the Bagmati & Bishnumati.
-- In the 15th century , then ruling Malla
kings constructed the old palace – known as “Hanuman Dhoka Durbar “ just
less than a kilometer away from
the river Bishnumati and is located almost at the heart of the city. The golden
gate of the medieval palace is guarded by the monkey god Hanuman. The
subsidiary complexes and the monuments were added on till the 18th century by the Shah kings who defeated the
Mall kings in 1769 AD to control the valley of Kathmandu.
-- This world heritage site offers a visitor to see – the medieval palace and its
4 different internal courtyards displaying the intricately carved art works in
the wooden window frames, door frames and the roof struts. The old palace now
houses the memorial museum of the Shah kings
who ruled Nepal till 2005AD.

PATAN
DURBAR SQUARE :
-- The 2nd largest city in the valley of Kathmandu
has its traditional name as “Lalitpur” meaning the "City Of Fine Arts". At present
it is more popular by the name of Patan.
It is situated above a small plateau on the southern part of Kathmandu
across the river Bagamati.
In its history, the Patan city is said to have been
founded by the Emperor Ashoka of India in the 3rd century BC.
-- He enclosed the city of Patan by constructing
the 4 different Buddhist Stupas (dome structure) set on the four-cardinal /
boundaries of this ancient city.
-- At the center of the city is the medieval palace square of Patan which is the heritage site as well as the prime attraction for the visitors.
-- This
is purely a Buddhist city and exists at least 1600 various Buddhists monuments
and shrines. The city of Patan is the cradle of arts and architecture of the
valley, a great center both of the Newari Buddhist religion and of traditional
arts & crafts with 136 “Bahals” (Religious Buddhist courtyards) and 55
major temples. Since the ancient time, the city is the home to skillful artists
that cast the statues in the stone, wood & bronze along with the various
specimens of the fine handicrafts.
