Overview

INTRODUCTION :

The mount “Putha Hiunchuli” possesses a proud elevation of 7246meters. This is one of the most beautiful mountains among the snow peaks above 7000 meters of Nepal. It is located to the west of “Churen Himal” in the western most peak of Dhaulagiri range, in district of Rukum, in the mid - western region of Nepal. This mountain sometimes is also referred to as “Dhaulagiri - VII”.

“Putha Hiunchuli” offers many possible routes that can be explored and the climbing is technically challenging.  It is said that the difficulty level of the climbing is comparable to any classic route of the “French Alps”.

The landscape during the approach walk is as enchanting as it is unique a mineral world made of high cliffs and deep canyons.
This mountain was first climbed in 1954 by Jimmy Roberts from a British expedition team and last ascended on 2007 by a Swish team.

The route fallows from Kathmandu – Nepalgunja – Dolpa (Juphal) by flight and trek to Dunai, Tarakot, Musikhola, Kagkot, Yak khark and Base camp of Putha Hiunchuli base camp.
