INTRODUCTION :
Baruntse ( 7129 meters ) is a mountain
in the Khumbu region of eastern Nepal, it has the four various peaks and
bounded on the south by the Hunku Glacier, on the east by the Barun Glacier,
and on the northwest by the Imja Glacier. This mountain is located in between
the lap of Everest and Makalu mountain in the Everest region. This mountain was
first ascended by “Colin Todd” and “Geoff Harrow” on 30th May 1954 of a New
Zealand expedition.
They climbed the mountain from the South
- East Ridge. Since then many climbers have used the very same route and got
succeeded.
The south - east ridge of mount Baruntse
is little bit difficult to climb up through. There are hard sections of 50
degree's elevation with a prominent ice cliff to be climbed facing the risk of
avalanche. The climbers have succeeded the mountain mostly in the spring season
and is the best time for the climber’s safety. A few climbers however have
reached on its top during the autumn as well.
This mountain has also been becoming coveted day by day like the other Pumori,
Ama Dablam and the Everest as well.
